Ibuprofen is an analgesic used to help patients manage their pain and inflammation. Being a NSAID, Ibuprofen is well-suited for mild to moderate pain with swelling, such as swelling after tooth extraction, or dental implants. Especially useful because of how well it is generally tolerated, Ibuprofen has become a staple within the dental practice and can be used in adults, as well as children over the age of 12.
Always follow the advice of a medical professional, and the patient information leaflet contained. Ibuprofen should not be used in cases, including:
If your patient has stomach ulcers.
Is allergic to an ingredient in Ibuprofen.
If your patient has asthma.
If your patient suffers from a kidney or liver disease.
Ibuprofen should only have one active ingredient, 200mg of ibuprofen. Please refer to the patient information leaflet or packaging for definitive information on inactive ingredients.
